Twenty-eight Stanislaus State Students Awarded Grants from SERSCA Program
Twenty-eight Stanislaus State students have been awarded grants ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 each from the Student Engagement in Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity (SERSCA) Program. The grants will fund 12 students as graduate assistants and 16 students as undergraduate assistants for the 2019-2020 academic year. The grants allow the students to work alongside faculty and engage in meaningful activities, such as research, creative projects and professional development.

Stan State EdD Program Graduates Publish Book
Three Stan State students conducted their dissertation research related to community equity audits focused on "place, health, and education" under the advisement of Dr. Kathryn McKenzie. After defending their dissertation, they went on to translate their research into book form which is now promising to be a valuable resource for educational and community leaders.

Macky Morris receives CCAA Championship Scholar Award
Prior to first serve of Thursday's CCAA Tournament quarterfinal match, Stanislaus State sophomore Macky Morris was brought out to mid-court to receive one of the highest honors as a student-athlete. Morris was presented the CCAA Volleyball Championship Scholar award by CCAA Commissioner Mitch Cox in a pre-match presentation. The CCAA Championship Scholar Award recognizes the academic and athletic achievement of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached competition at the Conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Championship Scholar Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating in each CCAA-Sponsored Championship.

Autumn Halvorsen presented with CCAA Championship Scholar Award
During a pre-game ceremony on Friday at Triton Soccer Stadium, CCAA Commissioner Mitch Cox presented Autumn Halvorsen the CCAA Women's Soccer Championship Scholar Award. The CCAA Championship Scholar Award recognizes the academic and athletic achievement of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached competition at the Conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. Stanislaus State hosted a luncheon on campus on Friday, Nov. 1 to honor the recipients of this year's Mary Stuart Rogers Scholarship, including 19 undergraduate students and one teaching credential student. The students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance, dedication to personal growth and desire to serve others.

Stan State's Chemistry Club Awarded Outstanding Chapter
Students of the Warriors Chemistry Club has been awarded by the American Chemical Society with an "Outstanding Chapter Award" for their hard work during the 2018-2019 academic year. They will be recognized in the November/December issue of in Chemistry magazine and the ACS Student Chapter Award Ceremony at the 259th ACS National Meeting in Philadelphia, PA.

Sokcon Swing, 33, finished her degree at the Stanislaus State Stockton Campus in May. Her academic success and perseverance have been noted by the California State University Chancellor's Office, honoring her Oct. 15 at a reception in Sacramento as part of its Celebrating the Adult Learner campaign.

Six Stan State Students Join McNair Scholars Program
Six California State University, Stanislaus students were named 2019-20 McNair Scholars. Students will be paired with faculty mentors and design, complete, publish and present research projects. They will also attend conferences and visit campuses to meet with faculty at prospective graduate schools. Named for Ronald McNair, the physicist/astronaut killed in the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, the program's primary objective is to place more first-generation/low-income and historically undergraduate students in master's and Ph.D. programs.

Stan State Student Studies Science on the High Seas
California State University, Stanislaus student Danah Gissler from Sonora studied this summer on a 10-day journey aboard the STEMSEAS Research Vessel (RV) Neil Armstrong. Gissler, who is a Geology major, traveled from Woods Hole, Massachusetts to Iceland to study oceanographic research. The STEMSEAS program introduces undergraduate science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) students, as well as other interested students, to oceanography and geoscience on the open seas before they settle on their career goals. Stanislaus State Student Named to HACU Internship
California State University, Stanislaus International Business Major Juliana Aguiar traveled from California to Boston this summer for an internship with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), through the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). During her 10-week internship Aguiar will learn about Large Bank Supervision (LBS). Follow her as she blogs from Boston about her experience.
