Stan State Celebrates Graduates During Six On-Campus Ceremonies After having spent their final year at Stanislaus State in virtual and online spaces due to the pandemic, graduates from the Class of 2021 assembled on campus last week for the ultimate in-person event: Stanislaus State's 61st Commencement. The University hosted six ceremonies for the Class of 2021 over three days, May 26-28, in the campus's outdoor amphitheater. For the 2020-2021 academic year, Stan State celebrated more than 3,000 graduates.

Stanislaus State student-athletes achieved high academic excellence during the Fall 2020 semester. Despite the pandemic, the student-athletes were able to juggle academics and athletics finishing with an overall department grade point average of 3.275.

11 Stanislaus State computer science students participated in the Online Project-Based Software Coding Camp, joining 11 students from Tongmyong University in South Korea. Robin Fredeking, who dreams of one day working as a family nurse practitioner in the Turlock region, is Stanislaus State's recipient of California State University's 2020 Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement. The Trustees' Award is the CSU's highest recognition of student achievement and provides donor-funded scholarships to students who demonstrate superior academic performance, personal accomplishments, community service and financial need.

JC Aguirre is one of six students to receive the first President's Central Valley First-Generation Scholarships from the University. At $12,500 each year for four years, Aguirre's scholarship will cover tuition, fees and other expenses at Stan State. In addition, he will receive a new laptop computer and ongoing support from dedicated professional and career mentors.
