Turlock, CA (06/27/2022) — Here is what's going on at Stan State that might be of interest to your readers or viewers. Stan State has experts available to discuss all topics mentioned in the Daybook:
Beginning Ag Course Provides Unique Collaboration with From Farms to Incubators
Stanislaus State sociology major Ames Berdino gained universal lessons in Professor Taylor Doo's spring Introduction to Agriculture Science course. He mastered an information-organizing program, collaborated with a group within the class and discovered the realm of agriculture businesses and specifically, the number of women in the field. All of that was possible because of a partnership with author Amy Wu and her "From Farms to Incubators," project.
Stan State Honors Juneteenth
For the first time, Stanislaus State in collaboration with the California State University celebrated and recognized Juneteenth as a federal holiday. An online forum was part of the California State University's Acknowledges, Commits and Transforms (ACTs) Initiative, which was inspired by the CSU's systemwide two-day biennial Juneteenth Symposium organized by leaders at CSU Dominguez Hills. The launch of the ACTs initiative acknowledges that more needs to be done to make the CSU's 23 campuses more welcoming for Black students.
